Mike Shea – President
As the founder and President of Mosaic Research, Mike oversees the information flow from the consultants and covers the club and department stores. He established the company in 2001 and has been a sell side analyst for 27 years. Prior to starting Mosaic, Mike held research positions at DA Davidson, Sutro & Company and Black & Company. He graduated with an economics degree from the University of Oregon in 1986.
Dan Bolstad – Grocery Industry Consultant
Dan is the grocery industry consultant for Mosaic and manages the sales and pricing studies for the company. Prior to joining Mosaic in 2004, he was the Senior VP of Operations at Wild Oats. Prior to Wild Oats he was with Shopko (SR. V.P. – Operations) and Fred Meyer (SR. V.P. – Operations), a division of Kroger for 27 years. Dan earned his BS degree from Portland State University.
Alison Jacobs – Department Store & Apparel Brands Consultant
Alison covers the department stores and selected apparel brands for Mosaic. Her retail industry experience includes merchandise coordination for Tommy Hilfiger and men’s apparel buyer for Burdines (Macy*s). Alison’s educational background includes degrees from Ithaca College and the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City.
Bill Meihoff – Head Research Analyst
Bill is one of the Research Analysts at Mosaic. He builds and manages earnings models and pricing surveys for the company. Prior to Mosaic, Bill was in server sales with IBM. He earned his degree in economics at Claremont McKenna in Los Angeles and MBA from Portland State University. Bill was awarded the CFA designation in 2007.

Bill Montagne – Sales & Marketing
Bill is involved in the sales and marketing efforts for Mosaic Research. Prior to Mosaic, Bill spent 10 years as a SR VP Institutional Sales for DA Davidson in Portland, Oregon. Before DA Davidson, Bill was President of SideOut Kids, an active lifestyle clothing manufacturer. He earned his Legal Studies Degree from the University of California Berkeley.
